Paint, Tile, and Lighting!

Busy weekend over here! We picked out paint, tile and bought all of the lights for the whole house. Woot! Feeling very accomplished over here!

SW Essential Gray -- What the majority of the house will be...a nice gray with a hint of taupe

SW Soar - Carter's bedroom, a sweet light blue to match his new airplane bedding

SW Storm Cloud - A moody blueish gray. LOVE this and matches our new bedding awesome. We'll lighten the room up with white curtains.

On to tile. This was a real headache for me. It's so hard to piece all of the things together -- fixtures, trim, vanity, countertop, etc. We came up with some great choices though!

We will be doing the bottom left (dark charcoal) for the floor of our master bath. We'll be doing 6x24 inch tiles...looks super sharp!

This tile will be used in our master walk in shower. It comes in a variety of sizes, so  we can mix it up for a really fun look!

Slate looking tile without the maintenance -- we'll use this in the entryway and mud room.

We chose a very basic light gray tile for our laundry room and hall bath. I feel much better having these decisions behind us!!

Mudding and taping is coming along and it will be done by Friday, we will start painting after Labor Day!!

Exterior materials.

It's so hard piecing stuff together and hoping the final product is something you love!

Here is what we are thinking for the exterior....

SIDING - Sherwin Williams Summit Gray
SHUTTERS and DOOR - Sherwin Williams Naval
STONE - Kentucky Cutface by Centurion.

For the fireplace inside, we'll do the same color of stone, only stacked and not cutface.

Does this go?? We have charcoal black shingles.

P.S. As of yesterday our house is completely sheet rocked and mudding/taping has started. Major updates coming!

Decisions, decisions...

We are just now starting to have to make some pretty major decisions about materials. It's hard when you are trying to piece a space together and can't visualize the whole thing together.

We've purchased all of our kitchen appliances (stainless steel) and also new living room furniture. We had to get a new storage unit to house it all until it can go in the house.

Here's the sample of laminate flooring we have next to tile we like for the entryway and maybe the mudroom too.

And here's a combination of materials for our master bathroom. We ordered our onyx shower base in the color "coconut. The gray and smaller white-ish tile will make up the shower wall and wrap around to the tub.

What do you think??!

Exciting Stuff

We just love going over every evening and checking things out....especially during this framing stage. There is always something new to look at!

Carter posing on the front porch.

Ooh la la! The amazing entry. I'm so stoked with how this turned out!

Fireplace all the way up to the ceiling.

 Plumbing has started as well!

Carter bathroom tub/shower. Carter likes it but says, "It's weeeeely dirty, mommy."

This is the patio door we picked out....with blinds inside the panes of glass. This will be great and solved any curtain or blind issue we would have had otherwise!
 Carter "working on the house".

 Pillars and arches taking shape.

We just ooh and ahh everytime we see the house! LOVE!

Darn, it's hard to see....but they mapped out the kitchen on the floor. If you look closely, you'll see how we are going to have the wall unit oven in the corner. I'm excited to see how it all looks!

Framing Progress

Oh hai. Yep, still building a house! Framers are just a day or two from being completely done...so let me show you how things have changed around here!

This is when things started to get exciting...the framing of our vaulted ceiling in the living room!

Framing the gable that will include a dormer.

Carter LOVES going to the new house to see the 'big dirts' and ride the yellow 'tractors'!

NOW it's starting to look like the house I've been dreaming of.

 Getting closer...
